Misinformation & disinformation in the UK

PA Media and Google News Initiative

We help journalists counter the increasing challenge of mis- and disinformation by offering training and support that is tailored to their needs. As the sister company of PA Media, the national news agency for the UK and Ireland, we work closely with news organisations across the UK, and are committed to upholding strong standards in journalism.

Our work researching the mis- and disinformation challenges journalists face is supported by the Google News Initiative.

Following research in winter 2022, we have built practical training for journalists that addresses knowledge gaps and responds to the issues they’ve told us they are facing in their everyday work. In autumn 2022, PA Media Journalism Training conducted research to understand UK journalists’ understanding of mis- and disinformation, and how we could best address any skills gaps.
